How it works

A zone is a group of places you deliver to, such as UK Mainland. Each zone has one or more methods, such as Standard and Express, each with its own price. At checkout, the shopper's address picks the zone, and they choose from its methods. The cheapest is picked for them to start with.

You need a Manager role or above.

Add a zone

  1. 1

    Open Shipping

Choose Shipping in the admin menu, then the Zones tab.

    AdminthenShipping
  2. 2

Name it and pick the places

Give the zone a Name. Under Countries and regions, tick whole regions or single countries. Tick Rest of world to cover every country no other zone does. To narrow it down, add More specific rules by state or postcode.

  3. 3

    Save the zone

Choose Save zone. You can add methods once it's saved.

Add a method

Choose Add method on the zone, then pick its Type:

Flat rate
One price, per order or per item.
Weight-based (bands)

Prices by the parcel's weight, such as 0–2 kg and 2–5 kg.

Price-based (bands)

Prices by the order's value after discounts.

Free
No charge.

Then fill in the Base rate, and Free over if orders above an amount ship free. Add a Delivery estimate (days) and a Dispatch cutoff time if you want them shown. Display position sets the order at checkout: lower shows first.

Weights

Weight-based rates add up each item's weight, plus a packaging allowance once per order. Set each variant's Weight (g) on the product's Variants tab, and the allowance at the top of the Shipping page. A variant with no weight counts as nothing, so check the warning at the top of the page if it appears.

Check it

The Rate preview tab shows which zone an address falls in and which rates it gets. Enter a country and postcode to try it.
