Connecting the app to your shop

Install the staff app on an Android phone, add your shop's address and sign in with your staff account.

Before you start

You need an Android phone and a staff account on your shop. Any staff role can sign in. What you can do in the app depends on your role: the app lists it under Access once you're signed in.

Connect

    Install the app

    Search for Vexon Commerce on Google Play and install it.

    Add your shop

    Open the menu and choose Manage stores, then Add a store. Type your shop's website address in Store address, and choose Add store.

    Use the address shoppers use, without a page on the end. It must start with https://. If you leave that off, the app adds it for you.

    Check it says Store found

    The app checks your shop straight away. Store found means it's ready for the app. If it says the store hasn't enabled mobile access, the switch above is still off. Turn it on, then choose Check connection.

    Sign in

    On Staff sign-in, enter the email and password you use for the admin on the website, and choose Sign in.

    If you use two-factor sign-in, the app asks for the code from your authenticator app next. Lost your phone? Choose Use a recovery code and enter one of your unused recovery codes.

More than one shop

You can add as many shops as you look after. Each one keeps its own sign-in. To switch, tap the shop's name at the top of the menu and choose another. Anything you haven't finished is saved to the shop it belongs to, and reopens when you switch back.

If a shop you don't recognise is already in the list, you can remove it from Manage stores. Removing a shop keeps any drafts on the phone.

Signing out

Go to Manage stores and choose Sign out on the shop's Account & connection card. Signing out clears that shop's copy of your data from the phone.

If it won't connect

  • Stores must use HTTPS. Check the address starts with https://.
  • This address redirects. Enter the shop's final address, the one you end up on in a browser.
  • This store needs a newer version. Update the app from Google Play.
  • Your password is right but sign-in fails. Check your account is a staff account on that shop. Shopper accounts can't sign in to the app.
