Counting stock with the app
Count a shelf with your phone and update stock for one location at a time.
Before you start
You need a staff role that can adjust stock. If the app says Inventory count permission is required, ask the shop owner to change your role.
Count it
- 1
Open Stock count
Open the menu and choose Stock count, under Inventory. You can also choose Count stock on a product's page, which fills in its code for you.

Choose the location
Pick the location you're counting. Count one location at a time.
- 3
Add each item
Type the item's exact barcode or SKU and choose Find variation, then add the match to your count. The count screen doesn't use the camera, so type the code in.
- 4
Enter what you counted
Each line shows what the shop thinks is on hand. Enter the number you counted in Units counted. Add a Count note if something needs explaining.
- 5
Review and submit
Choose Review stock count, check the lines, then submit them.
What happens when you submit
Your shop checks each line on its own:
- Matches: nothing changes.
- Different: stock is set to your count, and the change is recorded in the stock history as a count.
- Changed while you counted: if something sold or arrived during your count, that line isn't saved. Count it again.
